Through its association with Create London, Whitechapel Gallery, Open School East and Mill Co. the Rose Lipman Building is an artistic and creative hub in De Beauvoir. The Rose Lipman was a notable figure in Hackney’s local government, recognised for her strong leadership and educational influence. Often described as resembling Queen Victoria, which highlighted her commanding presence and authority, this resemblance contributed to her reputation as a figure of respect and admiration within the community. Hackney Art Week will feature female artists exhibited throughout the building.
