Triple Bill Performance Night

WomanEwer

Mon 25th November at 7pm

An event that brings together three female led dance performance on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

WomanEwer and the Rose Lipman Building present a tantalising triple bill, including ‘J’ai un Bleu // I Have a Bruise’, a recently premiered work by Laura Kenyon. Combining three different female led dance performance, this event is open to all and celebrates survival, womanhood, strength & empowerment. The evening will close with a post show discussion led by Nicolette Wilson-Clarke, where artists will be invited to talk about their work & connect directly with the audience.

“2:30” by Klaudia Wittmann is a solo performance project that delves into sensorality within dance to examine social structures of gender in light of recent global abuse scandals in women’s gymnastics. The piece utilises various sculptures created during a collaboration between choreographer Klaudia Wittmann and sculptor Lara Ritosa-Roberts to incorporate symbols and emotional textures of gendered experiences.

”As of Right Now” by Nicola Adilman seeks to provoke contemplation on the notions of visibility, self-perception, and the evolving representation of bodies in the digital age, pushing boundaries and challenging societal norms along the way.
At the heart of the performance are two visual artists whose lines intertwine with the fluidity of the performer’s movements. Their synchronized dance with the moving body serves as a testament to the interconnectedness of artistic expression and human experience.

“J’ai un Bleu” by WomanEwer is a collaborative work based on real life stories from female activists and female survivors. The virulent nature of the subject matter reverberates in the dancers’ rigorous physicality and the overall soundscape which overlaps voice recordings with live spoken words and the percussive sounds created by the dancers’ movement and breathing.

Please note that these performances contain nudity and mild references to sexual assault. A safe space will be available for any audience member triggered by the show as well as the presence of a counsellor.
Suitable for all ages 16+
