Black History Season Launch of 60 Years of Carnival: Our Story, taking place on:

Thursday 29 October 2026
6.00pm–9.30pm

Studio 11, Rose Lipman Building
43 De Beauvoir Road
Hackney, London N1 5SQ

This special exhibition celebrates the 60th anniversary of Notting Hill Carnival through Tropical Isles’ Carnival journey and the experiences, creativity and contribution of our participants, artists and wider community.

The exhibition brings together photographs, costumes and Carnival materials, creating a visual record of our journey and celebrating the people and traditions that have helped shape Carnival over the years.

The launch evening will include Carnival storytelling, guest speakers, community sharing and Caribbean refreshments, providing an opportunity to come together, reconnect and celebrate our shared Carnival heritage.

We would be delighted to welcome you and hope you will join us for this special evening.

This programme is funded by Hackney Council’s Black History Season Grant Scheme & Arts Council England.
