Pro Dance Class with Rose Aida
Rose Aida
Rose Aida will be teaching Pro Dance Class 10-11:30am, Monday 24th to Thursday 27th Feb during her week of research & development. This research is supported by Mill Co. as part of the IWD program.
‘Not really dead. Not really dreaming’ is Rose’s new solo work in progress about how poetry is a necessity for survival in today’s world. Inspired by the writings and words of Audre Lorde, Maya Angelou and Birago Diop.
In a world where boundaries blur, a woman finds herself in complete stillness. The past lingers, not as a weight, but as a guide forward. Poetry becomes her bridge—one foot in dreams, one in reality. Binding ancestral presence to contemporary being, she alters her world and, in turn, is altered herself. As thoughts and dreams slowly take flight, she tries to keep her voice alive and mouth from falling silent.
